My Own Exprerience in English Language
Second language is known as the language that we learn after our mother tongue. It is the secondary option of the individual. People learn second language for multiple purposes; to communicate with people of different ethnic, to get job, to feel easy to live in strange country or environment, to learn foreign culture and lifestyle etc. As it is very important to know or speak the language of the place where we live. However, my second language ââ¬âEnglish is the most the most difficult to learn in a short period of time. The learning second language is much interesting and challenging, and also make more experience if we have good group discussion and talk with the teacher about own experience and problems. I moved to an environment that was totally different from the one I came from. I knew that this would be my biggest hurdle I would have to overcome. I sat in back of the class room and felt shy to speak with friends and teacher because I canââ¬â¢t frame a good sentence to express my problem. But teacher help me in each and every step of my problems that I faced. In middle of the semester, I understand more English and I started asking question regarding my problems to my teacher; the problems were solve in clear and effective way and I handle easily. I came to know while I learn English everything will be possible and easy if we keep on working with full of interest. In my experience one of the best ways to learning is writing in blog and read loudly. I am not really good writer and reader because I speak and think in Nepali. When I have a problem I talk and discuss with friends and teacher to know the correct answer and when I know the answer I keep on working on it for my experience in future. In addition, Group discussion became good source to learn lots of different idea to express the thought. I am very much sure if we give full concentration with interest on it we can definitely, learn lots of vocabulary and become a good writer and speaker. However, the teacher chosen the topic was so interesting and funny. The topic was to express my own experience and opinion towards the environment where I had grown up. It was more interesting to write in Nepali but it was so hard to express the feeling in English. I work in listening text and write down the vocabulary word which I heard in every single day. I believed that, the way of learning English language just to write and read loud. The way I make my language better is just keep on practicing lots. I realize that I am the one decide how my language will turn out in the future. The doors finally opened for me, but it took effort. Life was complicated during the transition stage when I was learning to accustom myself to a new language. Moreover, my classes were challenging in various fields like group discussions, homework, listening and writing. I studied online, extra time out of college, and finally I am feeling easy to interact with different American People, learn their culture and life styles.

Multistream Leadership at Work in Hawaii
Lei Lei is a small but popular bar and grill in the north shore of Oahu Hawaii. Neubert and Buscher are the owners and managers which are examples of Multistream leaders. In this paper, I will study troubles that Lei Leiââ¬â¢s may face and ways in which they may be able apply leadership skills to perfect the issues that have arisen. For instance Neubert and Buscher have been offered several opportunities to expand their management responsibilities to other restaurants on the north shore of Oahu. Another idea discussed is can the management practices at Lei Leiââ¬â¢s be easily transferred to other existing restaurants or business. Expansion Opportunities Servant leadership is an active approach to leadership that promotes the interests of others. Neubert and Buscher help their employee to ââ¬Å"growâ⬠as persons. Their focus is let the employee learn by their own experience of the orientation the many ways to involve and do more complex tasks. Also Neubert and Buscher maintain a servant leadership approach by working extra hours as cooks or waiters to minimize the burnout of stuff that may have personal issues to manage or particularly heavy workload on any one day. In my opinion this expansion might influence their ability to be servant leaders. This expansion will take a lot of their time in the Lei Lei bar. It will need Neubert and Buscherââ¬â¢s attention and will demand their time. In that case opening anther bar will take their focus from being a role model and helping their employee to grow. More over I think the positive effect on the stakeholders will be less. Now Neubert and Buscher have personal concern to improve the situation for the members of the bar, and when their attention will be to get expansion opportunities it wonââ¬â¢t be totally for the members. What make this bar so special and success is the owners approached based on their values and the afforded they put on creating a sense of belonging to each new hires. This can be reached only by the management personal daily involve. For example at my work I can see a lot of difference in my approach to situation when my ââ¬Å"goodâ⬠manager ask me to do some task ,compare to when my ââ¬Å"badâ⬠manager asks me the same thing. My ââ¬Å"goodâ⬠manager make me want to do the task by positive influence on me like- more responsibly , while the ââ¬Å"badâ⬠manager make me doing this task by negative influence like ââ¬â threaten. For conclusion this issue, if the business will expand, Neubert and Buscher must find/hire new managers for the bar which will be able to replace them while they at other locations. Those managers need to keep the spirit of the Multistream leadership. It will be the best if the new managers will grow from inside which they know the best how to keep Neubert and Buscher approach. Management Practice Transfer The idea of the management practices at Lei Leiââ¬â¢s can be easily transferred to other existing restaurants or business is not that bad. It is possible to implant the basic approach (Multistream) which Neubert and Buscher use and improve other business. The first thing Neubert and Buscher doing is ââ¬Å"Enablingâ⬠which is sharing or explaining information related to a job and its context. They do it by giving all the new hires the same task at the beginning ââ¬â to do everything that is needed for the business. This is how the new employee will learn the best about the new job. And also it shows there is no shortcut to nobody. The second thing Neubert and Buscher do is evolving them in the business by creating responsibility such including more complex and important tasks that will fit their specific talents and strengths. This is ââ¬Å"Equippingâ⬠which involves creating an environment for continuous learning on the job. Neubert and Buscher keep employees happy and in good care, by treating them with proper respect, pay those wages and offer enough hours, so they not require taking second jobs. This is ââ¬Å"Engagingâ⬠which is the process of encouraging affiliation and enhancing the intrinsic meaningfulness of work. At the end all this bring the members to feel belonging and commitment to the bar, make the customers feel welcome and in good environment which lead to success and long term benefits to the business. My conclusion in this matter, that in order to transfer to other existing restaurant it is necessary to use all the mentioned above and if so it will be possible to make a change. The managers must be using the Multistream leadership approach to build the employees trust and appreciation. Lei Leiââ¬â¢s is a business that has great potential for growth and influences other business. The only thing that should be changed is to help the owners to have more time to expand. Any company that focuses their view of the human relations and the wellbeing of their employees will automatically build a good reputation. This will have a positive effect on the success and profits because the employees will work with more enthusiasm and apply themselves more to the job. Dante’s Inferno
Dante Algheriââ¬â¢s poem, the Inferno, attempts to perfect the concept of Divine Justice. Main Christian religious ideals and Danteââ¬â¢s political views and past encompass the concept of Divine Justice. Dante, born in 1265 in Florence, Italy, belonged to a family intensely involved in the political scene at a time of upheaval and unrest. Dante augmented his political standing by holding several public offices at a time of political unrest, and further, exiled from Florence. Danteââ¬â¢s political beliefs and past reflect the essence and spirit of divine justice in the Inferno. At the opening of Canto III, inscribed at the gate of Hell, reveals it as a place constructed by Divine Justice, Omnipotence, and Love. ââ¬Å"Through me the way into the suffering cityâ⬠¦ Justice urged on my high artificer; my maker was divine authority, the highest wisdom, and the primal loveâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ (21). This inscription sets a religious tone, and implies that justice would be substantiated by strict doctrinal Christian values. While The Inferno, a strongly religious poem influenced by Christian morality, Dante incorporates his political ideals in his attempt to define Justice. Dante places numerous political figures through out the different levels of Hell. Farinata, the leader of the Gibellines in Florence, the party that opposed Danteââ¬â¢s Guelphs resides in the sixth level of Hell. Another Guelph, Brunetto Latini, Danteââ¬â¢s teacher at his university and a sodomite, resides in the seventh circle of Hell. Also, in the Seventh circle of Hell, Dante reveals his disdain for Florence, when he talks to three Florentine souls, expressing that arrogance reigns the damned city, ââ¬Å"Newcomers to the city and quick gains have brought excess and arrogance to you, o Florenceâ⬠(147). Dante reveals the corrupt political nature of Florence by placing numerous Florentine souls in Hell. More importantly, Dante reveals the epitome of injustice through the corruption and turmoil of Florence. While religion, a guiding force behind Danteââ¬â¢s vision of divine justice, Danteââ¬â¢s political views came to contradict important Christian doctrine and the Catholic Church. In the Eighth circle of Hell, Dante expresses his greatest criticism of the Catholic Church by placing Pope Nicholas III. Dante shows the Pope no pity, ââ¬Å"stay as you are, for you are rightly punished,â⬠(173) and further scorns all corrupt churchmen, ââ¬Å"Iââ¬â¢d utter words much heavier than these, because your avarice afflicts the world: it tramples on the good, lifts up the wicked. (173) Dante suggests a key factor to achieving justice, a separate but equal Church and state. In the ninth circle of Hell, Dante places the still living, Florentine souls Bocca defli Abata and Fra Alberigo, as traitors against their guests. Dante illustrates the worthiness of their punishment and the corruption they have caused in Florence, Ah, Genoese, a people strange to every constraint of custom, full o f all corruption, why have you not been driven from the world? For the foulest sprit of Romagna, I found one of you such that, for his acts, in soul he bathes already in Cocytus and up above appears alive, in body. (309) Dante expresses the intensity of the corruption in Florence, and demonstrates this by placing two Florentian souls in one of the worst levels of Hell. More importantly, by placing these souls in Hell prior to their physical death, Dante greatly contradicts orthodox Christian doctrine. More contradictory, in the absolute lowest level of Hell, Dante places Brutus and Cassius, who murdered Julius Caesar, next to Judas Iscariot who betrayed Christ. Dante equalizes both Caesar and Christ as benefactors. Just as Christ represents the perfect manifestation of religion, Caesar embodies the perfect manifestation of secular government. While Judas should clearly experience harsher punishment, based on Christian morality, he only experiences a slightly worse punishment than Brutus and Caissus. Clearly, Danteââ¬â¢s vision of morality unites both politics and religion. Danteââ¬â¢s political past with Florence immensely influences his writing in The Inferno. Dante repeatedly places Florentine souls in Hell, and further elaborates his political views and ideals, most notably, his view of a separate but equal Church and state. In the final level of hell Dante patently unites his political and religious views of moral justice by showing Lucifer and three greatest sinners of all timeââ¬âJudas, the betrayer of Christ, and Cassius and Brutus, the betrayers of Julius Caesar. The incorporation of political ideals with religious ones encompasses Danteââ¬â¢s view of divine morality. Danteââ¬â¢s Inferno Using support from the piece, do you believe the penalties suit the crime? Yes , I believe it, because i believe in the rule ââ¬Å"eye for an eyeâ⬠, and i believe to and in the story explained me that God created hell to satisfy His need for justice suggests that He would apply the same sense of justice to the assignment of punishments. and one the line that Dante's Inferno used come from the inscription found above the gates of hell. It speaks of enduring suffering eternally, and warns the condemned to ââ¬Å"abandon every hopeâ⬠(canto III. ). The condemned are warned not to hold out hope for anything, including the hand of God Himself. The correlation that Dante establishes between the sins a soul commits on earth and their punishment in hell is impossible to overlook. The wrathful attack one another (canto VII), the gluttonous are forced to eat excrement (canto VI). The inscription over the gates of hell in canto III clearly states that God, or the Divine Authority, was urged on by His sens of justice to create hell (canto III. -5) God created hell to punish sinners, and the applicability of hell's specific punishments reinforce the idea that God made it for a definite purpose. What are some differences between Upper and Lower Hell? Hell is divided into two parts: the upper hell consisting of 5 circles and the lower hell composed of 4 circles. The Wretched of the lower hell are held ââ¬Å"in angerâ⬠by God and not the upper hell. The upper hell has to do with sins of incontinence, which is dropped by a temptation. The Wretched of the upper hell have lost ââ¬Å"control ââ¬Å", that's mean with no resistance for his dedication to the fervor of passion, not a true evil inside, which excludes them from the ââ¬Å"wrath. â⬠The lower Hell is when a sin is planned that is, for the human act whose purpose is to affect another human being, with physical damage to the person or his things, or fraud that is also object of physical or moral harm. What are some differences between Dante's perspective of Hell and yours? The Dante's perspective of hell is depicted as a ââ¬Å"funnelâ⬠made up of 9 concentric circles, beginning the journey through the largest of them as you go shrinking circles will, hell is divided into nine concentric circles, as below comes more cruelty is present. for me in general idea God created hell for the sinners and all that was committed here on earth will pay, but about 9 circles, I do not think, because I think there are many thousands of sin and between sin and other sin there is no difference, everything is paid in life, and that's why God created hell, the only salvation is Jesus Christ.

Technology and Plagiarism
Widespread technology and communication has made both plagiarism and the detection of it easier than ever before. In the competitive field of journalism, integrity and individuality plays a massive role. The ethics of writing in a world where writing is an exponentially growing area of work are essential. In the field of journalism, writers must act according to the subjectââ¬â¢s code of ethics. ââ¬Å"Truthfulness, accuracy, and objectivityâ⬠(Journalism Ethics and Standards) are important characteristics that each journalist must follow. A journalistic piece must meet these indisputable standards ââ¬â after all, the main idea behind journalism is to deliver the truth. There have been many cases of misconduct and disobedience of the journalistic code of ethics in the past and recent future. Zachery Kouwe, a Times business reporter, was rightly accused of plagiarizing from The Wall Street Journal. After in-depth research into his other pieces of work, plagiarism was apparent in many of his works. The New York Times article called plagiarism a ââ¬Å"journalistic sinâ⬠to emphasize the gravity of the issue. Another excellent example of a writer compromising his journalistic integrity can be seen in Billy Rayââ¬â¢s Shattered Glass (2003). This movie, based on a real life story, shows the life of a journalist whoââ¬â¢s lost his way and his integrity. Stephen Glass, a former reporter for The New Republic, was caught for a serial fraud in his articles. He fabricated quotations, sources, descriptions, and events in his stories and was eventually fired when his deception came to light. Plagiarism is a common issue for those writers who have lost their integrity. In fair play, written works must be original and accredited. We have the opportunity to use insightful ideas from countless pieces of work. There are written works available in almost every thinkable subject ââ¬â anywhere from linear algebra to dance ballet. The only requirement for contributing to and taking from the gigantic world of words is integrity. Upholding this honor is the only way to avoid fraud and plagiarism.

Course of Action for Owens Corning Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
Course of Action for Owens Corning - Essay Example This meant the company had to develop new IS capabilities and also to plan for a strong IS human resources management. It was also found that when the staffs were getting trained in SAP their requirements outside was very attractive and people were moving out of the company. Ã At the planned implementation time, the first release was done - October 1995. Second and third releases identified training as a major lacuna during the implementation phase which cost them quite some time and efforts. Not just teaching the computers and PC operation but also processes that are being adopted by the company. Release 4 was the SAP R/3 roll out at the Roof and Asphalt plants a total of 140 units where this was to be switched on by Mar 1997. This was to be followed closely by the other units of insulation and composites of North America. But then there were lots of issues relating to bugs in SAP, attrition among people and a swift implementation of switching it all on at the same time. From our analysis, we find that the issue is one of staged implementation and now they need to take a measure of putting unit after unit in order and lessons learned in one place could go on to help the rest. A plan to put all these in a phased manner needs to be worked out and implem ented with the same vigor when it was started in 1994. Ã Owens Corning was swiftly growing with its new acquisitions and there was an ongoing incorporation of new technologies that improved their working situation and the profitability of the company. The Roof and Asphalt plants divisions of OC were just over 80 units strong and the implementation of SAP R/3 was to happen in these. But the rapidly changing scenario and the acquisitions of units caused a number of changes in the company resulting in the implementation of SAP R/3 for R&A divisions alone at more than 140 locations. All this meant that the exercise is going to get tougher than planned.

The History of Lacrosse Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
The History of Lacrosse - Research Paper Example The sport of Lacrosse has diplomatic, spiritual, entertaining, physical and cultural meaning/ significance. Thesis statement: The meaning/significance given by Indian tribes to Lacrosse game is beyond its value as a sports item (special reference to historical background of Lacrosse). The history of Lacrosse as an ancient game is interconnected with the Indian tribes in North America. The Native Americans considered Lacrosse as a gift from the god, their creator. As pointed out, the Native Americans played the crude form of Lacrosse and its modern form is indebted to the European settlers. For instance, the European settlers who reached in the southern parts of the American continent got interested in this game. Montreal, an important settlement of the Europeans is considered as the birthplace of modern Lacrosse. Eventually, the warm relation between European settlers and the Native American tribal people resulted in the popularity of Lacrosse to other parts of the world. The crude form of Lacrosse game cannot be termed as a single game because it was a set of ball games played by a number of Indian tribes. For instance, the Northeast tribal people used one stick and the Southeast tribal people used two sticks to play Lacrosse. The tribal people used different na mes to denote the same game. For instance, the Ojibwa Indians used the word ââ¬Å"beggatawayâ⬠to denote the game. The name of the game ââ¬Å"Lacrosseâ⬠originated from its similarity with crosier, which was used for religious purposes. Donald Lee Fixico makes clear that the French settlers in North America used the word ââ¬ËLacrosseââ¬â¢ to denote the game (Fixico 103). The European settlers who settled in North America gradually converted the aboriginal population to Christian faith. Some of the converts moved to the border regions of Canada. This resulted in the spread of Lacrosse in Canada. Eventually, the European settlers who
